Bristol City defender Ashley Williams' current contract expires in the summer and many fans of the South West club appear keen to see him leave Ashton Gate then.

The former Premier League defender originally joined the Robins on a short-term deal in August but had his deal extended until the summer in November.

The Welshman has been a fantastic addition for City, who lost Adam Webster late in the summer window and have been without a number of defenders due to injury this season.

Williams has made 24 Championship appearances for the South West club, helping them climb to sixth in the table.

The 35-year-old averages the most interceptions and the third-most clearances in the Robins squad this season (Whoscored) and has been a mainstay in the side during their recent impressive run of form.

Speaking to the Bristol Post, Lee Johnson suggested that Williams would have plenty of offers in the summer and refused to rule out the possibility of him extending his stay at Ashton Gate.
