Tom Lawrence has endured a testing season to say the least, with the former Leicester City man having been largely affected by off-field issues involving Richard Keogh and Mason Bennett, with all three players caught up in a drink-driving scandal.

The wideman has largely put these issues behind him however, notching seven goals and three assists in the league this term, despite the Rams largely failing to maintain any real consistency under Phillip Cocu so far.

Lawrence previously moved to Pride Park back in the summer of 2017, and has largely proven to be a shrewd acquisition by the Midlands based club, playing a total of 116 games for the Championship outfit.

Following his strong showings this term, we felt now was a good time for Football League World Journalist Chris Thorpe to ask members of the DCFC - ITS IN OUR DNA Facebook group for their thoughts on whether the 26-year-old has silenced his critics or not, thus prompting a wide array of responses from the Derby supporters.

Here, we take a look at some of the best responses from the Derby faithful via social media.

Tom Burgess: He's definitely gradually getting there.

David Clarkson: Three good games and we forget the hundreds of poor displays? No chance.

Keith Wilkinson: One Swallow doesn't make a summer. He has definitely raised his game, but it's all about doing it over a season.

Steve Kemp: No, lazy player and it’s more about the team's performance not the individual's.

Joe Densley: Nope. Awful attitude. Three half decent games and dozens of rubbish ones. I suppose his fan club will be all over this post.

Isaac Mallinson: He’s having his best campaign for Derby this season, already scored seven and still a quarter of the season to go.

Mike Brierley: No.

Wayne Nightingale: No way. His all round play is poor, still has a long way to go.

Steve Coby: I think Rooney has given him a kick because he's definitely been better since January. Personally I think he has the ability to be the best player in the Championship if he just puts in the work. Hopefully we get to see it.

Jordan Hunt: No, overrated.

Laurrie Richardson: I’ve never been a fan of his but have praised him in the last few games maybe Rooney's levelled his head as he seems less arrogant and lazy.

Tom Butcher: Well sounds like he hasn't silenced all of them - for me he was never as bad as some said and is now playing well though he has the talent to play better.
