It has been a steady season for Queens Park Rangers in the Sky Bet Championship, with Ian Holloway’s side seemingly on course for a mid-table finish this season in the English second-tier.

Currently sitting 16th in the Championship table, it is highly unlikely we will see the Rs challenging for the top-six over the course of the remaining 15 fixtures, whilst Holloway’s side should be able to get enough points on the board to move well clear of relegation trouble.

A number of individuals have impressed this season at Loftus Road, with Alex Smithies continuing to pull praise for his performances in blue and white.

Here at FLW, we take a look at Smithies, assessing what kind of transfer-fee QPR could command for the goalkeeper should someone attempt to lure him away from Loftus Road.

The 27-year-old has featured in all 31 of QPR’s Championship fixtures so far this season, conceding 44 goals and keeping five clean sheets.

The goalkeeper is valued at £2.7m with transfermarkt, but we believe that should an interested buyer come knocking, QPR would be able to demand a much higher fee for a goalkeeper of Smithies’ quality.

We would expect it to take around £8m to get the Rs to consider letting Smithies leave Loftus Road.
