Bolton Wanderers ran out narrow 1-0 winners over MK Dons on Saturday as they moved into positive points for the first time this season.
It was a frantic end to the game, with Daryl Murphy going from ‘zero to hero’ in a very short space of time.
The former Nottingham Forest striker had a golden opportunity to open the scoring on the day, but he saw his penalty saved well by MK Dons goalkeeper Lee Nicholls.
But Murphy had the last laugh as he fired home clinically from close-range to spark jubilant scenes from the Bolton supporters, who have had to deal with frustrating and worrying circumstances over the summer.
But they’ve shown remarkable improvement in recent weeks under the management of Keith Hill and will be hoping to build on their impressive recent showings in League One.
Plenty of Bolton fans took to social media to issue their thoughts on who they think should pick up the man-of-the-match award.

Emmanuel is looking like the shrewdest signing of the 9 on deadline day.

Chicksen was excellent!

Verlinden made a really positive difference. Give it to him!
Josh Emmanuel was also brilliant. No idea why Hill took @36Dodoo off though when Chris O'Grady was largely ineffective for the entire time he was playing.

He’s looked a different player over the last 4 or so games. Maybe starting to see the real Luke Murphy. Decent at this level.
