Swansea City booked their place in the second round of the Carabao Cup last night with a 3-1 victory over Northampton Town at the Liberty Stadium, with one player in particular producing an eye-catching performance.

Having been handed his debut by Steve Cooper, Ben Cabango was impressive throughout against the Cobblers as he flourished at the back alongside loanee Ben Wilmot.

As well illustrating an unerring level of composure whilst on the ball, the 19-year-old also managed to be a domineering presence in the air for the Jacks, as they fought back from a one goal deficit to clinch victory courtesy of a brace from Andre Ayew and a strike from midfielder George Byers.

Swansea will now face Cambridge United in the second round of a competition, which they famously won in 2013 by defeating Bradford City 5-0 at Wembley Stadium.

Given just how successful Cabango was against the Cobblers, it would unquestionably be somewhat of a surprise if he doesn't feature in the Jacks' clash with the U's.

Following the Northampton game, the defender tweeted: "Absolutely delighted to have made my Swansea City debut!

"Good 3-1 win & through to the next round!"

After seeing Cabango's post, plenty of Swansea fans reacted on social media in a positive manner to his comment.
