Many Stoke fans been suggesting that Jack Butland is really getting back to his best form, after the Potters claimed a 1-0 win at West Bromwich Albion on Monday night.

Butland managed to help the Potters protect the 1-0 lead that was given to them by Tyrese Campbell in the ninth minute at the Hawthorns, recording a vital clean sheet to earn Michael O’Neill’s side a potentially crucial three points to lift themselves four points clear of the relegation zone.

The keeper was kept largely quiet in terms of having to pull off too many saves due to the solid performance of Stoke’s defence and midfield, but Butland was a real commanding presence from set pieces helping to relieve pressure by claiming deliveries into the penalty area by the hosts.

Since O’Neill took over at Stoke, though, Butland has re-found the sort of form that has earnt him recognition with the England national team, managing to pull off some crucial saves in the last few weeks and also command his box much better than he was earlier in the campaign.
