Doncaster Rovers have announced that Ben Whiteman has signed a new deal with the club, which will keep him at the Keepmoat Stadium until the summer of 2023.

Whiteman has been a key member of Darren Moore's squad this season, and has made 18 appearances across all competitions so far this term.

Doncaster are currently sat 13th in the League One table, and will be hoping they can build on some impressive showings last season, which eventually saw them miss out on promotion after a defeat to eventual winners Charlton in their play-off semi-final.

The 23-year-old revealed in an interview with Doncaster's official website that there has been previous interest in his services from Championship clubs.

"It is flattering to have this interest from clubs in the Championship - I back myself to play there and feel I’m ready to do so, but this club feels like home and I want to get there with Rovers this summer."

Plenty of Doncaster fans were delighted with this recent announcement.
