Sunderland got back to winning ways as they thrashed Tranmere Rovers 5-0 on Tuesday evening at the Stadium of Light.

Phil Parkinson will be hoping that his side can build on this impressive showing heading into their game against Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.

One player that was on the scoresheet in the win over Tranmere was Luke O'Nien, with the popular player scoring Sunderland's fifth of the game.

The 24-year-old has been a key member of the Black Cats squad this season, and it's clear to see that he's made a good impression on Sunderland's newly-appointed boss.

It'll be interesting to see where Parkinson opts to deploy O'Nien, with the midfielder being used in a number of positions already in this year's league campaign.

Plenty of Sunderland supporters took to social media to praise the midfielder for his latest showing.
