In what was a valiant display at Molineux, Bristol Rovers fell to an eventual Carabao Cup defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The League One side were resolute and resilient in their display, forcing the game into extra-time before a Bright Enobakhare strike sealed the hosts’ place in the fourth round of the competition.

The Championship side have spent millions this summer as they attempt to gain access to the Premier League, and Rovers will leave the West Midlands with their heads held high, and hope to take their encouraging display into Saturday’s third tier match-up with Blackpool.
