Aston Villa booked their place in the play-off final at Wembley after a goalless draw against Middlesbrough last night was enough to secure a 1-0 win on aggregate.

Despite Boro needing to force the issue, Steve Bruce’s men were largely untroubled, although they did get a lucky break late on when goalkeeper Sam Johnstone was somehow not sent off after handling outside the box.

Yet, it was a great team performance from Villa who all worked extremely hard, including midfielder Conor Hourihane.

And, the Ireland international took to twitter last night to send a message to the supporters, with the former Barnsley man quick to warn that they’d achieved nothing yet.

Villa are set to play Fulham in the final at Wembley on May 26 for a place in the Premier League.

That means there’s one huge final hurdle for Villa but for now fans are pleased that the team overcame Boro.

Here’s how they reacted to Hourihane’s message on twitter…
