Reading were left to rue missed opportunities to work themselves back into the game on Friday evening, as they fell to a 2-0 defeat against promotion-chasing rivals Watford.
The Hornets took the lead through Ismaïla Sarr, who finished expertly past Reading goalkeeper Rafael from distance. Lewis Gibson’s error was then punished by Sarr just minutes after his opener, as the winger lashed home Watford’s second goal of the game in the first-half.
Reading had chances to get back into the game at Vicarage Road though, with Josh Laurent, Yakou Meite and George Puscas all going close for Veljko Paunovic’s side.
But they couldn’t take any of the opportunities that fell their way, which will have been frustrating for the club’s supporters. One player that did impress for the Royals on a disappointing night was Michael Olise, with the midfielder causing Watford a number of problems with his trickery on the ball.
Are these facts about the Reading badge true or false?
Olise has been linked with a move away from Reading, and it’ll be interesting to see whether the Berkshire-based club can keep hold of him heading into the summer transfer window.
Plenty of Reading supporters took to social media to issue their thoughts on Olise’s recent showing against Watford.
Take a look at the best of the reaction from Twitter below….
Sadly #Readingfc punished for a sloppy first 15. Terrific finishes from Sarr, but Rafael wasn’t really troubled again after that. Had one of the big chances for Puscas or Meite nestled in the back of the net who knows what might have happened. Olise outstanding tonight.

Olise was excellent tonight, one of his best games in a #readingfc shirt for me, thought he looked threatening and made things happen all night long. It's such a shame we'll lose him and Richards in the summer and potentially others too

#ReadingFC don’t deserve Olise. Miles, miles too good for us

It’s been fun watching Olise this year. Massive miss when he goes in the summer #ReadingFC

Olise was class but shows the difference in quality between the two teams when is swift back

Watford won’t have had an easier home game this season. Another ‘big’ game that #ReadingFC players shrink and hide. Only player to come out of this game with any credit is Olise. Mainly because it’s on TV, so pushing for his move. Either way, he played well.

I hate that I’m never gonna see Olise in a Reading shirt again 🥺 best player on the pitch tonight. #readingfc

Olise looking superb and on the front foot. Meite looking dangerous, just a shame we can’t shift it into his left. Yiadom posing a threat in behind.
Won’t be a popular opinion, but feel this game suits Aluko down to the ground. #readingfc
