Reading were left to rue missed opportunities to work themselves back into the game on Friday evening, as they fell to a 2-0 defeat against promotion-chasing rivals Watford.

The Hornets took the lead through Ismaïla Sarr, who finished expertly past Reading goalkeeper Rafael from distance. Lewis Gibson's error was then punished by Sarr just minutes after his opener, as the winger lashed home Watford's second goal of the game in the first-half.

Reading had chances to get back into the game at Vicarage Road though, with Josh Laurent, Yakou Meite and George Puscas all going close for Veljko Paunovic's side.

But they couldn't take any of the opportunities that fell their way, which will have been frustrating for the club's supporters. One player that did impress for the Royals on a disappointing night was Michael Olise, with the midfielder causing Watford a number of problems with his trickery on the ball.

Olise has been linked with a move away from Reading, and it'll be interesting to see whether the Berkshire-based club can keep hold of him heading into the summer transfer window.

Plenty of Reading supporters took to social media to issue their thoughts on Olise's recent showing against Watford.
