According to reports from the Nottingham Post, Lincoln City are set to sign Nottingham Forest striker Tyler Walker on loan for the 2019/20 campaign.

The Imps will be looking to add competition to their front-line for John Akinde this season, with 22-year-old Walker set to put pen to paper on a season-long loan deal at Sincil Bank.

The forward is no stranger to Danny Cowley's side after an impressive loan spell with Mansfield Town in League Two last term, where he scored 26 goals in all competitions despite the Stags missing out on promotion to League One.

Coventry City were believed to be interested in signing the prolific striker, but it now looks as if the Imps are set to win the race for Walker on loan.

This would leave Lewis Grabban as the Reds' only real option up top, with Daryl Murphy and Jason Cummings seemingly out of Sabri Lamouchi's plans having been told to leave the club, according to reports.
