Peterborough United made it three defeats in a row last night as they slipped out of the EFL Cup against Oxford United.

The two sides met in League One action at the Kassam on Saturday, with the U's running out 1-0 winners courtesy of Cameron Brannagan's strike. It was a carbon copy again last night, with the 23-year-old on hand once more to secure the win for Oxford.

It's a disappointing start to the campaign for Peterborough, who were amongst the pre-season favourites for promotion. The opening day defeat at the hands of Fleetwood was disappointing enough, but to have failed to score in their last two matches should be a big concern for Darren Ferguson.

His side paid a club-record fee for Mo Eisa in the summer, as well as turning down a huge sum of money for Ivan Toney, yet neither has impressed despite starting both games against Oxford.

The pressure of being tipped for success is clearly beginning to show amongst some of the fanbase too. They've been on the cusp of the top six for so long, but there are no signs in the early exchanges that they're going to break into this season.

That's concerning these supporters on Twitter.
