Nottingham Forest midfielder Ryan Yates is facing a three-match suspension following his sending off in the Reds' lunchtime game with Reading.

Forest travelled to the Madejski Stadium on a four-match winless run in the Championship, and in desperate need of three points to move them away from the relegation zone.

However, less than 15 minutes into the game, Forest's task of collecting just their fourth league win of the campaign got even harder after Yates was dismissed for handballing on the line.

Royal midfielder Michael Olise had swung over a curling free-kick, which Brice Samba failed to deal with under pressure from Tom Holmes, who headed towards goal, leaving Yates to inexplicably claw the ball off the line with his hand.

To add insult to injury for the visitors, Reading striker then stepped up and coolly sent Samba the wrong way from 12 yards to put the Royals in front.

It means that Yates will now miss games against Norwich, Brentford and Sheffield Wednesday and therefore won't be able to feature again until the week before Christmas.
However, judging by some of the responses from Forest supporters on Twitter, they didn't seem too bothered about Yates' suspension.
