Blackburn have secured the services of Ryan Myambe until June 2021 after the defender put pen to paper on a new deal at Ewood Park.

The 21-year-old was a key member of Rovers' promotion-winning side last campaign, while he has continued to impress in the second tier this term.

Nyambe has made 28 Championship appearances this season, despite facing stiff competition from Elliott Bennett for the right-back spot.

He last featured for Tony Mowbray's side on Easter Monday as they cruised to a 2-0 victory over already-relegated Bolton Wanderers.

The defender told the club website: “This club means a lot to me. I’ve been here since I was 13, so it feels like home to me really and I’m very pleased to be staying for the next few years."

Given his eight-year association with the club,Nyambe is clearly a popular figure among Blackburn fans, so this latest update has been met with great positivity.
