10-man Nottingham Forest played out a goalless draw with Luton Town at the City Ground last night and the performance of centre-back Scott McKenna has left many Reds fans waxing lyrical.
Jack Colback was sent off for a second yellow card offence and conceded a penalty just after the hour mark but Brice Samba saved the subsequent spot-kick.
The Forest keeper had an impressive evening between the sticks to keep the Hatters out and he was helped by the performance of his central defenders.
What club do these 22 rarely-seen ex-Nottingham Forest players play at now?
McKenna was particularly impressive last night, with the Scotland international making seven clearances, three interceptions and one tackle, as well as winning three of his five ground duels and four of his eight in the air (Sofascore).
The 25-year-old was signed by Sabri Lamouchi last summer but has become one of Steve Cooper’s trusted defensive lieutenants and is the first choice alongside Joe Worrall in both a back four and a back three.
He certainly seems to have impressed the City Ground faithful, with many Forest fans taking to Twitter to voice their thoughts on his performance against Luton…
Terrible, terrible refereeing. Ojeda great debut. Samba 😍 Worrall 👊🏼 McKenna our best signing in years. I always look for positives, have I mentioned the reffing 🤦♂️#nffc

Scott McKenna is our best player and it's not even remotely close. Garner also very good tonight. Samba…🤫👀. Like Ojeda too, a decent little debut. Think that might be the worse I've seen Johnson, not sure 4231 suits him. That and he looked a bit spent tbh. #NFFC

0-0 that was low on quality but impossible to take your eyes off. Samba outstanding, save at the end was ridiculous. Ojeda, very impressive and definitely more to come. McKenna, solid as ever. Spence second game on the trot where he’s looked a bit off it #nffc

Absolutely magnificent from Samba, Worrall and Mckenna. Really impressed with Ojeda at times, tidy debut. Need to see some of the decisions again, but definitely thought the foul was inside the area in real time #NFFC

Hung on for a draw, they out muscled us in all parts of the field except Scott McKenna.
Samba, what a save, what a game. #nffc
