Nottingham Forest scrapped their way to a point away to Wigan Athletic today as Karanka's side left it late to grab a 2-2 draw at the DW Stadium.

Hillal Soudani converted the rebound after Lewis Grabban's penalty had been saved but it was the man who won the penalty who got the Forest fans talking most.

Matty Cash was the man fouled for the spot-kick and also the man who briefly brought the Reds level in the first half.

Pouncing on a Latics' mistake, Forest broke with the ball falling to Cash who finished coolly to cancel out Nick Powell's opener.

Will Grigg gave the home side the lead shortly after however meaning Karanka's side went in at half-time behinds.

But Cash was a constant threat and it was no surprise he was at the centre of the equaliser either.

Karanka had put the 20-year-old in the starting XI today in place of Gil Dias after impressing in the League Cup in midweek.
