Derby County fans will have been left disappointed as their side fell to a 2-1 defeat at home to Lee Johnson's Bristol City.

The Rams didn't take the chances that fell their way on the night, which saw them miss out on a chance to move back into the play-offs.

It means they now sit 11th in the Championship table, and could slip further down if other results don't go their way on Wednesday evening.

Bristol City took the lead on the day through Andreas Weimann, which was soon doubled as Josh Brownhill scored in first-half injury-time for the Robins.

But Derby responded in the second-half, with substitute, Jack Marriott halving the deficit with a fine individual strike to beat Daniel Bentley.

Marriott will be hoping that his impressive showing can earn him his first league start of the season for when Derby are next in league action.

Plenty of Derby fans issued high-praise for Marriott after his goal.
