Bradford City have confirmed that goalkeeper Richard O’Donnell has been ruled out for up to four weeks with a hamstring injury.

The Bantams are looking to bounce back from relegation to League Two by achieving their immediate promotion back to the third tier this season. Gary Bowyer’s side currently sit in the play-off places on goal difference with 44 points, level with four other teams from third down to seventh.

One player that has been key to Bradford’s push for promotion this season has been ‘keeper Richard O’Donnell, who has been a regular fixture of the Bantams league campaign, playing in every single league game so far and helping Bowyer’s side to boast the second-best defence in League Two this term.

Bowyer has been dealt a big blow, however, after the club revealed that O’Donnell was to be ruled out for up to four weeks with a hamstring injury. The stopper suffered this injury in the closing stages of their recent clash against Crawley Town, in which they fell to a 2-1 defeat.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Bowyer was obviously downbeat after such a blow, and had this to say: “Rich has been one of our most consistent performers this season and has operated at a very high level.

“We are all disappointed with the news of his injury and know he is working hard to get back as soon as possible.”

With this blow set to leave a gap for Bowyer to replace in the transfer window or use his backup ‘keepers, we take a look at how fans reacted to this injury update...
