Orlando City are to make a decision on Martin Paterson.

The 28-year-old signed an initial loan deal with the American side from Huddersfield, but a hamstring injury has resulted to him making just three appearances – all from the substitutes bench.

The Northern Ireland international, who is out-of-contract with Town at the end of June and is to be released, is now out with a knee problem with Orlando set to make a decision on retaining him.

Paterson scored six goals in 29 appearances for the West Yorkshire outfit after joining on a free transfer from Burnley in June 2013.

He had been a fans favourite at Turf Moor, where he scored 37 times in 151 games. His 19 goals during the 2008/09 season had helped the Clarets win promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.

The striker also featured for Stoke City, Grimsby Town and Scunthorpe United.
