With Leeds’ loss to Norwich and draw to Middlesbrough last weekend, many parts of social media criticised the Whites and said they had ‘bottled promotion’.

Despite this, Leeds returned to the summit of the Championship table with their win over Swansea midweek, and ended any talks of a crisis for the time being.

It would seem that every other club sees Leeds as the benchmark, and the biggest game of their season, similar to how many do so for Manchester City in the Premier League.

Leeds should use this to their advantage, if at all possible.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men have come out of a run of games that at the start, many said it could make or break their season.

The Whites had fixtures against promotion rivals Norwich and Middlesbrough, as well as a tricky tie against the unpredictable Swansea.

While four points is nothing to write home about, it has guaranteed Leeds stay at the top of the table.

Fixtures will start to ease from here on out, and Bielsa’s men could go on a run of wins with games against a few of the relegation-threatened sides coming up.

Teams will come to Elland Road treating it as a cup final, so Leeds fans should get behind their side to cancel out any noise from the away section.

On the road, Bielsa must instruct his team to be calm in possession and keep playing their passing game.

Leeds have been in a similar position to this before, but they have faded away time and time again. This time, they must do all they can to stop that from happening.

The best way to guarantee success is if the players can believe in themselves. They clearly have the ability, so must not let mentality get the better of them.

Next up for Leeds is a game against strugglers Bolton, where three points is a must.

Leeds are winning the war, but there are fourteen battles to go.
