Redfearn has done a great job at Leeds United
Redfearn has done a great job at Leeds United

Over the past few days I've seen quite a few people say that former Sunderland manager Gus Poyet should replace in form head coach Neil Redfearn at Leeds United. Pardon?

I honestly don't know where this story has come from or why anyone would consider letting Redders depart!

Leeds United have recorded an impressive 1.84 points a game since the turn of the year and had a run of 7 wins, 3 draws and 3 losses, that's brilliant! Only league toppers Bournemouth have recorded a better score at 1.86 and we took 6 points off them this season.

Considering that Poyet's form for Sunderland this season includes 8 losses and a measly 4 wins and left Sunderland only 1 point away from a relegation spot. I think we'd best stick with our very lovable and very capable Neil.

No one can deny that Leeds United under Redfearn have played the best football we've seen in years.

Possession based, attacking minded football is the aim of the game in the Championship, as you can tell from the top sides in the league.

You've also got to consider the players that Redfearn has brought through from the youth. He's distilled confidence in the likes of Byram, Cook and Mowatt. All of whom hardly got a look in under Hockaday (that's another story).

To all the Leeds fans out there that are begging for this to happen, stop it! I'll agree that when the team of Poyet-Wise rolled in I was a big fan, even though we all knew that Poyet did all the work and Wise was just the "pretty face" behind it all.

Poyet is a good manager when he gets going but he's not a man I'd trust with this young team.

Neil Redfearn is here to stay (fingers crossed) and that is something to celebrate, not moan about!
