I think any Leeds United supporter reading this will agree with me that their winter dealings were impeccable having not only added numbers to their squad, but actually improve and build on an already impressive season they're having.

The only thing which Garry Monk may regret not bringing in is a striker, of course being heavily linked with West Ham United forward Ashley Fletcher, and late on Lewis Grabban who was thought to be on his way, before he signed for promotion rivals Reading.

To see why Leeds had the perfect month we have to look back at their early January business.

Spanish midfielder Pablo Hernandez joined on a permanent basis following a very successful loan stint at the club, but they also were able to send out fringe members of the squad on loan as Luke Murphy signed for relegation-threatened Burton Albion.

There was very little report for week or so until another player out-of-favour at Elland Road departed - Toumani Diagouraga who had appeared just once for Leeds United this campaign was loaned to Ipswich Town.

Following Barnsley's onslaught of first-team squad players leaving; skipper Conor Hourihane, forward Sam Winnall and young defender James Bree; the Tykes had to strengthen and decided to permanently sign Leeds United midfielder Alex Mowatt for an undisclosed fee - I'm sure some fans would have been disappointed to see the 21 year-old depart but perhaps it was the best for both parties.

Monk had a frantic transfer deadline day as he looked to complete a number of arrivals, and so he did.

Firstly, Spaniard forward Alfonso Pedraza moved on loan from Villarreal, the youngster has a promising future and might offer something to the promotion hunt.

Swansea City winger Mo Barrow signed for Leeds until the end of the season in a loan deal to become the Yorkshire side's second capture of the day.

I'm sure the manager was hoping to announce the signing of Ashley Fletcher but that deal seemed to fall through, despite the club seemingly chasing him for all of January.

Leeds United also kept hold of their key players, including defender Charlie Taylor who looked on his way out prior to the window opening.

Whether there was no interest or the left-back decided to stay at Elland Road, credit as to go to the board for persuading him to stay until the summer at the very least.

Amid interest from China, 20-goal man Chris Wood didn't fall for the lure of increased wages and he decided to stay at Leeds, to presumably help them gain promotion to the Premier League.

Overall, I can't see a fault in their transfer window and did all the dealings they possibly could - which is why Leeds United had the perfect January, in my opinion.

If Garry Monk and his team do get promoted then they will have a very strong squad already there but also one or two arrivals could lead to an impressive year in the top-flight.

They just need to sign Pontus Jansson for supporters to be ecstatic.

Leeds fans, what did you make of the last month? Are you happy with all the signings in at Elland Road? Could Monk have brought in anyone else? Is this squad capable of reaching the Premier League?
