As you may know, there are a number of highly-rated prospects in the Premier League, although the main stumbling block for a lot of them, is playing time.

With the increasing numbers of foreign players, young English players, of course, move further away from first team football.

In order for them to improve and gain experience, they should, in theory, be moving out on loan, although some sit at their clubs on the bench, week in, week out.

Now is the time for clubs in the Championship, and lower, to be looking at potential loan signings from the Premier League.

A player who is in the same category is Alex Pritchard, here's why I think he needs to leave Spurs on loan in January...

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder is a player who has all the credentials to become a top Premier League player, and he caught the eye in every match he played for Brentford last season, whilst on loan at the Bees.

Although he has had loan spells away at both Peterborough and Swindon Town, he is mostly known for his fine performances during the 2014/15 season at Brentford, in which he was involved in all but one game.

Pritchard became the centre of Mark Warburton's Brentford side, which was known for their aesthetically pleasing football - he enjoyed his role in the team scoring 12 times and creating seven goals.

He also appeared six times for England U21's during the 2014/15 season, where he was usually operated from the left-wing.

Following his fine performance for Brentford Pritchard won a lot of awards, the full list is as follows;

Club awards:

Brentford's Players Player of the Year

Brentford's Social Media Player of the Year

Club supporters groups:

Brentford's Norwegian Supporters’ Player of the Season

Brentford's Irish Supporters' Club Player of the Year

Brentford's Italian Supporters' Player of the Season

League awards:

Sky Bet Championship Team of the Year

Sky Bet Championship Player of the Year Top 10

He gained many plaudits last season and it was somewhat surprising when to see he would be staying at Tottenham this season.

This season would be good for him to, once again, kick on in the Championship before challenging for a place at Spurs.

At the present time, he's below Christian Eriksen, Heung-Min Son and Clinton N'Jie in the pecking order, and any Championship team would benefit from signing Pritchard on loan.
