We are getting to that time of the year when we get a rough idea of which teams are looking upwards and who's biting their nails to stay up. One thing which we can't be certain of though is who exactly is going to finish the season in those four play-off positions. There is plenty of clubs though who could be there come May next summer.

I look at the Championship table and it's quite obvious what side is going to win the league, Rafa Benitez's Newcastle United. The amount of money they have spent and the supporters' backing it's reasonable and warranted to why they sit top at the moment.

Brighton & Hove Albion are second but just watching them I feel they may crumble at any point and fall down the table, following last season's failure to gain promotion to the Premier League. Although Chris Hughton has found stability and a consistent scorer in Glenn Murray - the Seagulls may take up that second automatic place but if not then I am sure they will finish in the play-offs.

Alex Neil is being put under a tonne of pressure at Norwich City by the media, after a run of poor form. However, there's nothing to worry about in my opinion because they sit fourth and a couple of points off second. I understand their objective is for an instant return to the top-flight but getting rid of Neil is a ridiculous suggestion, it's just unwarranted speculation from the papers. The Canaries' squad is not strong enough for an automatic promotion spot and another way to get back to the top-division of English football is via the play-offs.

Garry Monk has seemingly put a strong squad together. I think he has the right balance to have a real push for the top-six at Leeds United. A midfield of ex-Premier League players Liam Bridcutt and Eunan O'Kane is a recipe for promotion and a rock-solid defender in Pontus Jansson, with Chris Wood smashing them in at the other end of the pitch. Leeds are hands-on favourites to finish in one of those four positions - winning the two semi-finals and the game at Wembley is going to be a tough ask though for a side use to finishing mid-table.

Lastly, but not least I think Reading will nick that last spot. Jaap Stam has got his priorities right this campaign and addressed the positions that needed to be. The defence has been sorted with both Liam Moore and Tyler Blackett arriving at the Madejski. Midfielder John Swift is someone impressing the scouts as well, but, in my opinion, they don't have a good enough striker to challenge above sixth. Yann Kermogant is inconsistent and gets slated an awful lot by the Reading fans. Perhaps the manager may look at the striker role in the January transfer window.

Some close contenders are Birmingham City, I think they may just fall short in the final few weeks of the season. Whilst David Wagner has seemed to be distracted by media speculation after Huddersfield Town's impressive start, and they may finish mid-table.

Let me know who you think will make up the Play-Offs come the end of the 2016/17 campaign!
