It is very fair to say that life at Bloomfield Road hasn't been very tranquil at all in recent years.

The demise of the board and the Oyston family has galvanised fans into portraying their frustrations through the use of extreme protests and boycotts.

This has therefore had a detrimental effect on the footballing aspects of life on the North West coast, with very little promise or any signs of fight or belief shown by the Tangerines. This has consequently led to successive back to back relegations.

The sorry case is, that before a ball was even kicked before the Sky Bet League One 2015/16 campaign, Blackpool were destined and almost certain to be relegated once more in the public's eye.

This was not only due to agonising financial unrest, but also due to a complete overhaul of 15 players coming in throughout the course of the season, however with 18 released and 4 more sold on, it was evident to see cracks in any sort of consistency in the Tangerine camp, that's if it wasn't noticed already.

The likes of Jack Redshaw and Mark Cullen signing from Morecambe and Luton Town respectively, both proven lower league players with natural goalscoring instincts within League Two, both reaching double figures in the 2014/15 season.

Untried in League One, however, this was a major downfall in maintaining Blackpool's League One status, and above anything else, a risk.

This was further reinforced through the signing of Jarrett Rivers, at first seeming a glorious youth prospect from non-league outfit Blyth Spartans, but only to be released by the Tangerines in May 2016.

So what is next for Blackpool?

The introduction of new manager Gary Bowyer has sparked some belief in many Blackpool fans, and will look to demonstrate his Championship managerial standard expertise to full ability.

However, such as the natural state that football is in today, a manager of his level can only be used to the best of his ability with a strong financial backing and sheer stability at the club, something of which Bloomfield Road has been crying out for in recent times.

Jamille Matt is a real coup for Bowyer and the Tangerines.

The ex-Fleetwood man displayed a very promising goalscoring tally in the latter stages of last season on loan at high flying Plymouth Argyle, scoring 7 goals in 14 appearances, 2 of them goals coming in the form of a brace in the Sky Bet League Two Play-off Semi-final first leg, against Portsmouth.

If Bowyer can get the 25 year-old firing on all cylinders again this year, then any fears of relegation or midtable mediocrity will certainly be vanished.

Andy Taylor provides stability and experience in the left-back role, the 30 year-old who has 140 appearances for Walsall under his belt, has just signed on, along with Kelvin Mellor, Kyle Vassell, and Colin Daniel.

It is shaping up to be a very interesting season for the Seasiders. There is no doubt that Gary Bowyer is a very decent manager for League Two level, and the signings he has made are all very capable of achieving a high finish in this year's campaign. If the financial unrest can be resolved as soon as possible, maybe things will start to be looking on the up for Blackpool Football Club.

So what do you think Blackpool fans...how will you do this year? Will the Oyston situation ever be resolved? Is Gary Bowyer the right man for the job? How many goals will Jamille Matt score this year? Leave your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
