In the early stages of the season, many had tipped Fulham to go all the way and clinch promotion this year, and sitting comfortably in 2nd place after only a handful of games, including a 1-0 victory over recently -relegated Newcastle, Fulham appeared to have turned their fortunes around.

But then, September happened.

Fulham are yet to win a game this month and have only secured two points out of a possible nine in the league; luckily equalising in extra time at home to Burton Albion in the process - that goal being Fulham's only league goal since the end of August.

So the question begs, what has happened to Fulham? Just where have they gone wrong?

Star-midfielder Tom Cairney begun the season brightly, but has been 'invisible' in recent games; veteran Scott Parker (who turns 36 in October) just simply is not able to play every game anymore.

The West-London side have, in places, relied too heavily upon 16-year-old Ryan Sessegnon, who is supposedly a left-back anyway.

Sessegnon joined Fulham's academy in 2008, aged just nine years old. Since then, the U17 England international is Fulham's joint top goalscorer, with two goals.

From watching Fulham play this season, they seem to have an air of hesitance about their attack.

Gone are the days of quick, nippy attacks that can steal goals against the run of play, and cue slow, drawn-out attacks which allow the opposition to get men behind the ball.

Furthermore, it looks as if Jokanovic's squad has not clicked thus far.

There are too many instances of balls being crossed into the box whilst there's no Fulham player either attacking the ball, or even in the 18-yard box to start with.

This is, however, Slavisa Jovanovic's first full-season in charge, after taking the realm in December 2015, plus the Championship season still contains another 38 games for each club, so there's certainly a lot of time for change.
