Opinion: This young Ipswich trio deserve run in the first team – Agreed?

Ipswich Town are really struggling to score any goals, create any chances or spark any excitement among fans at the moment.

Mick McCarthy should give first team opportunities to Andre Dozzell, Myles Kenlock and Josh Emmanuel.

Why? Well, why not?

The first team are not exactly filling their fans with confidence.

What McCarthy needs is some inspiration and with two months left before he can sign any players to bolster his squad, the answer might be in his youth systems.

Ipswich need some young players with hunger, passion, fight and determination.

Andre Dozzell is the most talented player in Ipswich’s youth system and the 17-year-old deserves to be getting more game time than he has been.

The 17-year-old is very young, admittedly, but McCarthy shouldn’t be concerned by his age if he’s good enough – which he is.

The England under-18 international scored on his debut against Sheffield Wednesday last season and impressed in his only other league appearance but he has been limited to just one half of EFL Cup football this season.

Liverpool are circling around the talented young central midfielder and Ipswich should be careful to appease him otherwise he might well jump ship.

Another young star who deserves more of a chance is Myles Kenlock.

The academy graduate impressed against Rotherham but is likely to be dropped for the returning Jonas Knudsen this weekend.

Kenlock is falling into a long line of successful Ipswich left backs, following the rise of Aaron Cresswell and Tyrone Mings.

On the other side of the defence should be youthful right back Josh Emmanuel.

The pacy full back joined the Ipswich academy from West Ham in 2011 and he has been involved in four league games this season.

In the absence of a top quality right back, the 19-year-old should be given more opportunities to establish himself in the first team.

Ipswich need something special at the moment to drag them out of the doom and gloom of nondescript football and perhaps these three young players could do just that.

Ipswich fans – do you agree? What can these three offer? Are they first team ready yet?
