Things are looking very bleak at Loftus Road after Queens Park Rangers suffered a humiliating defeat this weekend.

QPR lost 1-0 to Rotherham, who picked up just their second win of the season and first since August.

It was just further confirmation of the dire position the club are currently stuck in.

Come the end of the season, QPR could well find themselves scrapping for survival.

You certainly wouldn't bet against it.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was sacked for bad results but things have taken a downturn since then and they now sit just three points away from the drop zone.

New manager Ian Holloway has not been successful for a while and early signs are indicating that he might be the wrong choice at Loftus Road.

He might have won his first game in charge but he was given a free pass by Norwich defender Martin Olsson inexplicably handling on the goal-line after two minutes, leaving QPR to play against ten men for the entire game.

Even then things weren't simple: QPR just clung on to a 2-1 victory at home to a side on a horrendous run of form.

Since then, the Hoops have been thrashed 3-0 by low-scoring Ipswich Town as well as losing at home to relegation rivals Wolves and then to Rotherham.

QPR are not blessed with a particularly talented squad.

Most Championship teams have at least 3 or 4 players who could probably be playing in the top flight but you can't say the same about the R's.

Alex Smithies and Tjaronn Chery could perhaps be in the Premier League but the rest of the squad is distinctly average.

QPR could be in for a long season here with a misfiring manager, an underwhelming team and a losing mentality.
