Leeds United have had a strong season all-round and Garry Monk's team have every chance of challenging the likes of Newcastle United for promotion come the end of the season.

A comprehensive 3-1 win over struggling Birmingham City was another solid result as the Whites continue their march up the table and with certain rivals beginning to wobble, things are looking very good indeed at Elland Road.

And the performance of one man in particular at St Andrews should have Whites fans very excited indeed.

Despite coming off the bench in the second half, Alfonso Pedraza had his strongest game yet in a Leeds shirt and looked every bit the part when introduced by his manager.

He's yet to nail down a first-team place at the Whites but after signing on an initial season-long loan, there is still time for the skilful winger to make an impact in any continued promotion push.

And the signs in the Midlands were seriously promising.

He took the ball forward with relative ease and went round Blues players at times, with real confidence.

He looks to be the man that might give this Leeds United outfit that little something different.

Despite mixing with the play-offs all season, they've been a little ordinary on one too many occasions and Pedraza offers them something not many teams at this level have.

And with more time on the pitch comes confidence and an increased knowledge of the English game, which is what Pedraza really needs at this moment in time.

Whilst Leeds continue their push up the table, Pedraza might just be edging closer and closer to a starting berth, if his performance at St Andrews was anything to go by.
