Leeds United take on Bolton Wanderers today in a fixture which man inside Elland Road will expect the club to win.

As we know though, the Championship is not as straight forward as that, and the Trotters present just as stiff a challenge as many other clubs in the second tier.

Leeds will want to three points, of that there is no doubt, and to do so and do so convincingly, Marcelo Bielsa must make some big decisions in terms of his team selection and who does and doesn't get the nod.

However, one man we feel has to get the start is midfielder Kalvin Phillips, who has been quite superb since Bielsa came in, sitting in a deep midfield role and becoming an integral part of the entire Leeds system.

Phillips though has been known to be one of the players often dropped by Bielsa, and it baffles us here at FLW as to why, as Phillips is a firm fan favourite and one of the men who make the Whites tick.

This game with Bolton though is set up for Phillips, who will have the job of combatting a tough tackling Phil Parkinson side who are battling as well as they can against relegation from the Championship.

Sometimes in games you need players who are going to do the not so pretty work, and Phillips certainly fits that criteria for this Leeds team.

If the Whites are to see off Bolton and send a statement to their promotion rivals, then starting Phillips is the first thing they need to do today.
