Following Hull City's 1-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, they find themselves winning promotion straight back to the Premier League.

A squad that boasts Premier League quality in massive proportions, they could well have gone up automatically if it wasn't for a shaky spell during March, but they won't care now as they will face the big guns next year.

One man that has been crucial to their success is wide man Sam Clucas.

He has appeared in 47 of City's 49 league games, scoring six and setting up eight for his team mates. His performances didn't go unnoticed by his fellow professionals, as he received the 13th highest amount of votes in the Player of the Year category.

And when you take a look back through the 25-year-old's recent history, what he has achieved is quite astonishing.

He signed for Mansfield in June 2013 from Hereford United, and scored eight throughout the season to help them to 11th place in League Two, ending up their highest scorer.

Spotted by League One Chesterfield, he moved for an undisclosed fee and had another extraordinary season, bettering his scoring tally of the previous campaign and helping the Spireites to a play-off spot.

Hull, recently relegated from the Premier League, were obviously watching and he was yet again on the move, this time to Humberside, where his effect, as outlined above, has been phenomenal.

Whilst he didn't play many minutes in the play-offs, twelve to be precise, he has very much earned his place in the Premier League next season and, if the Tigers stay up, he will be crucial to that.

From League Two to the Premier League in four seasons, Clucas is definitely one to look out for in the top-flight next term.
