Sheffield United have endured an awful start to the Championship season and pressure is already mounting on both Slavisa Jokanovic and the club’s hierarchy to make changes.

The Blades have so far this summer only managed to bring in Ben Davies on loan from Liverpool to bolster their squad. That is not enough and Sheffield United’s slow start to the season clearly shows that more fresh faces are needed to lift the morale around the club.

Jokanovic’s side might need to raise funds with one or two player sales before the transfer window closes if they are able to invest in some quality players to improve their squad.

It has been reported that Sheffield United could let the likes of Ollie Burke and Rhian Brewster leave the club in order to rasie funds for potential incomings.

There is now emerging interest in another player that Sheffield United could use to raise funds to strengthen their squad before the summer window closes.

According to the latest report from TEAMtalk, Sheffield United have rejected an opening offer of around £5 million from Everton for young forward Daniel Jebbison.

That comes after the 18-year-old burst onto the scenes for Sheffield United in impressive fashion by scoring in the Blades’ surprise win at Everton towards the back end of last season.

The report from TEAMtalk added that Everton are facing competition from the likes of Leeds United, Aston Villa and Brentford for Jebbison’s potential signature.

The Blades are thought to be willing to cash in on the 18-year-old in order to provide funds for Jokanovic to further strengthen his squad before the window shuts.

That would be a real short-cited approach for Sheffield United to take to Jebbison’s situation at the moment. On the face of it, the chance to raise some quick cash for a player that might not feature heavily this term to strengthen their squad might sound appealing.

However, Jebbison could well be worth far more to the Blades in the long-term with him having the potential to come into their side over the next few years and make a real impact.

The fact that Premier League clubs like Everton, Leeds, Aston Villa and Brentford are keen on the 18-year-old shows what a valuable asset Jebbison could be in the future.

There are other players within Sheffield United’s squad that they should be looking to move on before considering cashing in on Jebbison. Both Burke and Brewster should fetch decent fees if they could find the right buyers and then that money could be used to strengthen their squad.

Jokanovic might not consider Jebbison to be ready to make an impact straight away this season it the Championship for the Blades. That though might change as the campaign progresses so they should be doing all that they can to keep hold of the 18-year-old.
