Sheffield United saw off Leeds United with a resilient display at Elland Road to move back into the automatic promotion places in the Championship.

Chris Basham fired in the winning goal for the Blades with second half in full flow, and it was a win which could have massive implications on the promotion race in the second tier.

But should Blades fans now be feeling super confident and start dreaming of automatic promotion? Or is this result just another three points on the way to the ultimate goal of sealing a place in the top two?

For United fans, it should tell them everything they need to know about their team at the moment and the amount of fight they have in the tank when it comes to the promotion hunt.

While manager Wilder will play it down as not defining their season, results like this can often be a massive catalyst for club's as they seek promotion, and the Blades fans will be feeling confident deep down that this might well be their year.

The performances of their defenders is a massive plus - seven clean sheets in a row telling it's own story - and with Billy Sharp and David McGoldrick contniuing to impress further up the pitch, there's every chance United can snatch a top two place.

Today is a day to be enjoyed by the Blades fans and rightly, it should be. But going forward the picture is bigger, and there's little reason for those loyal Blades fans to not believe that Chris Wilder can complete a fairytale story and lead them back into the top flight.
