With a goal difference of minus 14, QPR's goals record is the second worst in the Championship, only better than bottom of the table Rotherham.

Defeats to Burton, Blackburn and Huddersfield Town in recent weeks has seen a lot of Ian Holloway's good early work dashed as the Hoops slipped even further down the table.

What is perhaps more worrying than anything else is the lack of goals we've been seeing from the Hoops this season, which has been arguably their biggest downfall throughout the whole of the campaign.

Against the Terriers this weekend, Holloway's men had more than enough opportunities to keep all three points at Loftus Road but finding players that can score week-in, week-out is where they've struggled.

Matt Smith, a January signing from Fulham, had a good opportunity but fluffed his lines whilst Idrissa Sylla hasn't been as good as tipped having joined in the summer.

The timely arrival of former Bristol City wide man Luke Freeman will add much-needed pace and creativity down the flanks and there's plenty of hope the Englishman can provide an attacking spark that has been lacking for much of the campaign.

But goals are what QPR need and with teams like Cardiff City picking up form around them, they too need to string together some wins if they are going to move away from the relegation zone.

With the likes of Birmingham, Wigan and Cardiff all waiting in the wings over the coming weeks, Holloway's men have ample opportunities to pick up points against teams that are around them in the table.

These are the games that count and during them, the goals need to start going in or there could be real trouble heading towards Loftus Road sooner rather than later.
