Grimsby Town striker Omar Bogle is a man in demand after his captivating displays in League Two have caught the attention of a number of Championship clubs.

Barnet recently tabled an optimistic bid for the hit man but Bogle looks bound for the second tier, with HITC Sport recently reporting that Derby County, Nottingham Forest, Fulham, Norwich and Brentford are all chasing the striker.

Bogle's career hasn't been plain sailing so far and he has had to earn his way back to the top after being released by West Brom, Birmingham and Celtic as a schoolboy.

He has plied his trade in non-league with Hinckley United, Solihull Moors and then Grimsby Town.

His goals helped Grimsby win promotion back to the Football League via the National League play-offs last season and his goals have been vital for the Mariners this season.

Some doubted whether he could reproduce his form in a higher league but the once-capped England C international is leading the way in League Two, with sixteen league goals already in black and white.

Bogle would undoubtedly be a good addition for any Championship side.

At the age of 23, he is still learning and developing his game and he will only thrive more if given a higher standard of coaching and playing with better service.

He possesses all the attributes that a striker needs to be successful: he has blistering pace, incredible strength and an eye for goal.

Bogle is able to use both feet and is not just a poacher as his all-round game is good too.

All these factors point to the likelihood that he would be able to continue shining in the Championship and follow in the footsteps of the likes of Dwight Gayle, Jamie Vardy and Andre Gray in completing a meteoric rise from the non-league pyramid to the top of the English game.
