Leeds United will be overjoyed with their position in the Championship, after exceeding many expectations placed upon them at the start of the campaign.

Garry Monk has steered the ship around at Elland Road, after a torrid few years for the Yorkshire club, and has guided the side to a promising sixth place in the Championship standings, after a 2-0 win over Reading on Tuesday night.

Jaap Stam's men completely dominated possession, having 77% of the ball over the 90 minutes or so, however it was Leeds' night once again, thanks to strikes from Souleymane Doukara and Chris Wood.

The latter, however, who has scored 14 goals in all competitions for Leeds so far this campaign, went off with a hamstring injury, that put him on the sidelines for almost 2 months last term.

Wood has been the spearhead of Leeds' promotion charge this term, and if his injury is as serious as expected, could really blow their chances of promotion from the second tier.

With that being said however, there is one striker, whose contract at his current club expires at the end of this season, and it doesn't look like that they will offer another deal either, meaning that Leeds could definitely get him on the cheap.

This man is Yaya Sanogo.

The Arsenal forward, who has experienced both Premier League and Champions League football with the Gunners, has never really been given a consistent chance in the first team under Arsene Wenger.

The 23-year old went out on loan to then Championship outfit Charlton Athletic last year, netted 4 times in 8 games for the Addicks, which proves he can score in the Championship, more importantly for a struggling team too.

When he was 18, he scored 11 times in 21 games for Ligue 1 club Auxerre, before sealing a move to the Emirates.

At 6 ft 4, Sanogo is capable of leading the line by himself, a trait that the injured Chris Wood possesses, making Sanogo the perfect addition and fit.

So... What do you think Leeds fans? Should Yaya Sanogo sign for Leeds in January? Do you even need another striker? Leave your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
