Ipswich Town will be ambitious about when the new League One season could possibly hold, with Kieran McKenna all set for his first full season in charge at Portman Road.
The Tractor Boys are about to embark on yet another season in League One and will be striving to follow the path laid out by Sunderland in achieving promotion back to the second tier on their fourth attempt.
One player who would boost their expected promotion push next season is Bersant Celina, who spent the 2021/22 campaign on loan with the Suffolk club from Dijon.
The Kosovan international shone during his second spell with Ipswich, and subsequently, the Tractor Boys are not the only English club chasing his signature.
Preston North End had previously been credited with an interest in the 25-year-old, however, it appears that the arrival of Ben Woodburn means that the Lilywhites may end their pursuit.
Now, it has been claimed that Stoke City are rivalling the Tractor Boys to Celina's signing, as per a Twitter update from journalist Ertan Suzgun.
Celina, who registered six goals and six assists in 32 appearances for the Suffolk club in League One last time out, looked a level above for parts of the campaign and it would appear that he certainly has the necessary attributes to cut it at Championship level once again.
With this dealing a blow to Ipswich's chances of agreeing a deal for Celina, one player that McKenna could view as an alternative is Newcastle United attacker Elliot Anderson.
The 19-year-old has attracted interest from the likes of Stoke, Huddersfield Town and West Brom already this summer, however, Newcastle want to find a destination where regular minutes can be afforded to the exciting talent.
Playing an integral role in Bristol Rovers' eventual promotion from League Two last season, Anderson netted eight times and recorded a further five assists in 21 league appearances.
Possessing an excellent dribbling ability and attacking intelligence, Anderson is also a creative threat who was consistently above the level last year in League Two.
Ipswich would be an ideal destination for one of the most talented teenagers in English football to continue his progression.
