Hull City will be looking to improve on last season's 19th placed finish, during what was their return to Championship football.

A campaign that proved to be full of change, Acun Ilicali's takeover of the club means that the Tigers are likely to be more ambitious when it comes to the transfer window, widening the scope when it comes to their recruitment.

One player that the club could cast their eyes over now is David McGoldrick, who is set to depart Sheffield United next month, with the Tigers likely to be able to meet the experienced forward's wage demands.

A report from Yorkshire Live has claimed that there is already several clubs in pursuit of the 34-year-old, and whilst not naming any of the clubs involved, Hull could be one of them.

Hull's forward line is looking to be a priority as the summer window nears its official opening, with McGoldrick appearing to be someone who ticks a lot of boxes at Championship level.

A squad with lots of youthful talent, the experience that a player like McGoldrick would bring could prove to be invaluable as the ambitions of the club start to rise.

The 34-year-old has proven to be an extremely intelligent forward over the years and someone who reads the game expertly.

McGoldrick has the attacking knowledge of when to go in behind and when to change things up and come short to link the play.

Possessing good levels of physicality, the 34-year-old is someone who could help the likes of Keane Lewis-Potter, George Honeyman and Allahyar Sayyadmanesh thrive, by bringing them into play when he drops deeper.

A poacher at this level too, McGoldrick could benefit from the craft and creativity that the aforementioned trio possess, that is of course if the club resist all offers for Lewis-Potter.

McGoldrick would be an excellent addition at the MKM Stadium, and with the possibility of adding him on a free on a short-term contract, it is something that the Tigers should at least consider as they strive for progression next season.

It is likely that if McGoldrick is a player on the radar of Shota Arveladze, then they will face lots of competition for his services.
