Norwich City are in a rut and need to escape from this bad run of form.

After getting to the top of the league, it has spiralled dramatically downhill from there with a current run of four games without a win in all competitions leading to doubts surrounding Alex Neil's future.

The ambition for this season will undoubtedly be to return to the Premier League after a disappointing relegation last season.

The Canaries just need a bit of inspiration from somewhere at the moment; someone to produce a few moments of magic to get the fans excited again and encourage the rest of the team to start reproducing their early season form.

Alex Neil's answer could currently be out on loan in Scotland.

James Maddison was sent for a loan spell with SPL side Aberdeen until January and he has been making some impression across the border.

The young attacking midfielder scored against Dundee in just his second appearance and followed that up with a stunning last minute free kick to seal a win against Rangers.

The 19-year-old is a technical and skillful player who has a moment of magic up his sleeve - as Coventry City fans grew used to seeing.

The Coventry born midfielder progressed through the Sky Blues' academy and scored five league goals for his boyhood club before joining Norwich in the summer (after agreeing a deal with in January).

Alex Neil needs to get Maddison back and into the first team.

Jacob Murphy has been making an impression with goals and exciting performances but Maddison was always the better player when the pair were at Coventry together.

Maddison is an England youth international with an exciting future ahead of him and he needs to be given a chance to prove he is good enough to be playing regular football at Championship level.

He's stood out in League One and now in the SPL so there is no reason why the teenage sensation cannot reproduce this form for the Canaries in the Championship.

Perhaps he can be the player to come in and make a difference when his loan expires in January - it could be like getting a new signing through the door.

Norwich fans - what do you think? Is Maddison first team ready? Could he be the man to change your fortunes?
