When making the step up from League Two to the Championship, the gulf in class is noticeably huge.

But Preston forward Tom Barkhuizen has made it look as easy as anything.

Deepdale had seen glimpses of his quality with his blinding pace and ability to beat a man but in March he put himself on a completely new level.

The former Morecambe man made his first start for the Whites in the first matchday of March and he then proceeded to start the other there matches as well.

He scored in every single game of the month, netting an unbelievable five times in four matches as well as claiming an assist.

Even for an out-and-out striker this record speaks volumes but this is a man who has also been playing some of this out on the wing.

As a result of his exceptional performances, he has been nominated for the Championship Player of the Month award and in my opinion, he should win it hands down.

If he was to win the award, it would be the second month in succession that a Preston player has taken the trophy following Aiden McGeady's triumph last month.
