Scott Hogan's exit from Brentford looks like an inevitability.

It is just a matter of time before he finalises a move away from Griffin Park with Premier League outfit West Ham United looking likely to be his next destination, according to Sky Sports News journalist Kaveh Solhekol.

There have been varying reports on the price of the deal, with Brentford holding out for £15m and the Hammers angling for an up front payment of less than £10m followed by add-ons.

Even if a move to West Ham is not imminently on the cards, Dean Smith is refusing to play the 24-year-old as he has had his "head turned" by speculation.

So a January exit is looking pretty certain.

Brentford will have to start preparing for life without him and they can use the big cash to bring in a top striker.

Someone needs to score Hogan's goals and here are 2 players who could.

Jordan Rhodes

Sky Sports recently broke the news that Middlesbrough are holding out for £9m or more for Jordan Rhodes.

If Brentford sell Hogan for £15m and bring Rhodes in for £9m, that represents phenomenal business considering the Scotsman's Championship goal scoring record.

The former Huddersfield and Blackburn forward has regularly hit 20 goals and, at the age of 26, he could continue to do so for some time.

Ross McCormack

Ross McCormack has struggled to fit in at Aston Villa since moving from Fulham in the summer and was recently disciplined for being unfit.

Steve Bruce clearly doesn't want him and the Scotsman will struggle to get games when Jordan Ayew and Jonathan Kodjia return from the African Cup of Nations.

McCormack is a proven goal scorer in the Championship with Cardiff, Leeds and Fulham so he could fill Hogan's boots if given the regular game time.
