Lloyd Kelly has formed an excellent partnership with Gary Cahill at Bournemouth this season, with the pair being a key part of the club's excellent defensive record.

The 23-year-old's pace, athleticism and strength make him an ideal partner for the vastly experienced 35-year-old, whilst it is clear to see that he is learning lots in the process.

It is no surprise to see higher-level interest in Kelly as January nears, with West Ham in somewhat of a defender crisis at present.

The young defender's physical attributes, combined with his technical ability and composure when bringing the ball out from the back, all make him someone who could succeed with the East London club.

If West Ham were to strengthen their interest in Kelly and secure a deal for him, then Bournemouth should cast their eyes over Hull City defender Jacob Greaves.

Despite also being a player that could move to the Premier League as early as January, Greaves is someone that could come in at The Vitality Stadium as a direct replacement for the 23-year-old, and not just because he too is left-footed.

Greaves, 21, has been excellent for the Tigers this season, standing out as one of, if not the most consistent performer at the MKM Stadium so far.

Not only is Greaves a player who already possesses the physical attributes to succeed as a Championship defender, but he is also extremely comfortable on the ball and can start attacks with his pinpoint passing and marauding runs forward.

The 21-year-old has an extremely high ceiling and is a player who could learn extensively from operating next to a defender who has seen as much success in the English game as Cahill.

As said before, Greaves is a player who has what it takes to earn himself a Premier League move this January, and if that is for a club who will not immediately see him as a regular first-teamer, then Bournemouth could consider a loan deal for the impressive central defender.

Greaves is an excellent Championship defender with a very bright future ahead of him, and when watching him, it is hard to believe that he is only 21.
