The Sheffield Star are reporting that Sheffield Wednesday have sacked manager Jos Luhukay.

The Dutchman was absent from Friday afternoon's press conference ahead of his side's home clash with Preston North End this Saturday, sparking speculation all over the world.

Dutch media outlets were reporting that he had lost his job earlier on in the day, and reports from the Sheffield Star have now confirmed that the 55-year-old has indeed been relieved of his duties at Hillsborough, with official confirmation from the club expected at some point today.

This comes after a dismal run of form of late, with Wednesday winning just one win in their last 10 games, with the Yorkshire club slipping down to 18th in the Championship, just five points off the relegation zone.

Luhukay won 16 out of 48 games in charge of the Owls, with the final nail in his coffin a 2-1 away defeat to Swansea City, where they conceded two goals in two minutes to throw away a lead.

Here, we take a look at Wednesday fans' reactions to this ground-breaking development...
