Bradford City got back to winning ways in League Two last night as they beat basement side, Southend United, at Valley Parade.  

After three defeats on the bounce in the league, it was vital for Stuart McCall’s side to get back on the winning trail last night.

Victory moved them to 15th in the table and they now have 12 points on the board from the opening 10 fixtures of the season.

The table paints a much better picture for the Bantams than it did on Saturday, but perhaps Bradford aren’t where many thought they would be under McCall.

As you can see, the Bradford fans were buzzing with McCall's return earlier in 2020. For them, the only way was up for the Bantams.

Of course, 2019/20 was curtailed and Bradford weren't in the play-off picture, but the new season brought fresh optimism and, with McCall at the helm, fans were hoping for a real push for promotion.

Ultimately, it hasn't been the start the Bantams were hoping for and, 10 games in, they've lost four times and are already seven points adrift of the play-off places.

On Saturday, there was a 1-0 defeat to Barrow and, as you are about to see, the mood towards McCall has began to sour. A win over Southend has stopped the rot, but under the surface, his tenure is on rocky ground...
