West Bromwich Albion were unable to return to the top of the Sky Bet Championship table last night, as they were held to a 1-1 draw against Wigan Athletic.

The Baggies went into the clash at the DW Stadium hoping to make it seven wins in seven matches, and return to the summit of the league standings after Leeds' win over Hull on Tuesday night.

But Slaven Bilic's side were way off their usual standards against the Latics, with talismen Grady Diangana and Matheus Pereira starting on the bench.

After a drab first-half, it was Paul Cook's side who opened the scoring - Sam Morsy's free-kick being awarded as an own-goal for Sam Johnstone, who saw his save rebound off the post and in.
