Nottingham Forest have had a very inconsistent season, however one man who has delivered quality performances on a regular basis is Kieran Dowell.

The 20-year old joined in the summer on a season-long loan from Everton and has caught the eye with his fantastic goals and key contributions in the final third.

Dowell, who operates as an advanced midfielder, is the Reds top scorer with eight goals to his name this season.

Given his displays, fans are already thinking about whether they can keep the youngster at the City Ground for the long-term. But, do they have a chance?

We take a look…

Not for me, Dowell’s long-term future lies at Goodison Park, where Everton are sure to make the most of Dowell’s talents.

With Ross Barkley’s future constantly debated, there is certainly an opportunity for a player like Dowell at Goodison, and I think over the coming years, he could become a regular fixture in the Premier League.

It is unfortunate for Forest, as Dowell is an exceptional talent, but Everton’s Premier League power probably means the Reds have no chance of any permanent deal.

Only if they get promoted.

I think Dowell will be playing Premier League football next season so the Reds must go up.

I'm not sure whether they are ready yet, though, and so it might just be the season they have with the Everton loanee.

Adam Simeoni

I'd say they have an excellent chance.

The Everton youngster is enjoying his football in Nottingham with a good bunch of lads similar in age, so I feel that he would be more than happy to stay again next season.

If his parent club can provide first-team football then obviously he will stay, however if he won't play in the Premier League then Dowell knows he can continue his development under Forest and Mark Warburton who have been great for him.
