Salomon Rondon has hinted that he may not return to Newcastle when his loan spell at St James' Park ends following Sunday's final game of the season away at Fulham.

Rondon has scored ten goals in 31 top tier appearances for The Magpies during a season long loan from West Brom, but despite being a hit on Tyneside, it seems the Venezuelan's future beyond Sunday's game is still far from certain.

Speaking to The Chronicle about his hopes for the summer and beyond, Rondon said: "I hope we can find a solution for the future.

"But for now it's just to carry on."

The striker also hinted that he believes there is a possibility that he will not return to Newcastle, as he added: "I always say, if I can’t stay, I have to say ‘thank you’ to everyone at the club."

So, if Rondon does not return to Newcastle, is there a chance that he could still have a future with West Brom?

We asked some of our Football League World writers for their opinion.

Ben Lang
"I can see him sticking with West Brom if they gain promotion. "He has proven his Premier League quality this season, so there is no chance of him dropping to the Championship. "He could well have a future at the Hawthorns but if West Brom don't go up, I can see him moving somewhere abroad." Toby Wilding "Given what he has done this season, Premier League clubs will be after him in the summer, even if Newcastle aren't one of them. "West Brom will likely want to keep Rondon for that same reason, but you feel it will be difficult for them to so if they do not go up." Jacob Potter "His future is elsewhere if they don't win promotion. "I wouldn't read much into his latest comments, as there's still a long way to go before the start of next year's campaign. "Anything can change, and I would be stunned if he remained with West Brom by next season, although it could be a possibility, but only if the Baggies win promotion back into the top-flight."
