Marcelo Bielsa’s opinion on the January transfer window could well be changing, with Daniel James the latest player to be linked with a winter move to Leeds United.

Leeds’ head-coach has previously described the winter window as “difficult” insisting that he is happy with what he has available to him at Elland Road.

However, according to Football Insider, a winger is high on the list of priorities at LS11, with James a man firmly on the radar heading into January.

James has impressed for Swansea City this season, helping Graham Potter’s side into promotion contention.

The 21-year-old has featured on 10 occasions, and although he is yet to score a goal this season, he’s registered three assists and has worked his way into international contention.

Should Victor Orta strike a deal for James in January it will, of course, have a knock-on effect on the playing squad at Elland Road.

Here, we take a look at ONE winner and ONE loser within Leeds’ squad if James arrives…

Roofe has seven goals to his name this season, but you could argue that some of the service into him hasn’t been good enough.

Pablo Hernandez and Mateusz Klich have had their fair share of assists, but from the left, Ezgjan Alioski and Jack Harrison have been inconsistent with their delivery.

James has only three assists to his name, but he could well bring some added quality in the final third, which will benefit Roofe.

Harrison is on loan at Elland Road from Manchester City, but Bielsa has favoured Alioski and Hernandez on the wings when they’ve been available.

Should James arrive, it is likely to knock Harrison further down the pecking order.

That’ll be frustrating for the young winger.
