Chris Wilder is still looking to bolster his attacking options at Sheffield United, with Scott Hogan one man on his radar.

According to Football Insider, Hogan is attracting interest from the Blades, who are hoping to secure a deal for the striker before the loan deadline closes on August 31.

Hogan, 26, has endured a tough 18 months at Villa Park, never really establishing himself in the first-team under Steve Bruce.

In 50 Championship appearances, Hogan has just seven goals to his name, with his form a stark contrast to the form he showed at Brentford prior to his multi-million pound move to the Midlands.

In just 27 league starts for Brentford, Hogan returned 21 goals, impressing at Griffin Park.

Despite his faltering form at Villa Park, he’s still attracting interest from Wilder at this late stage of the summer.

Here at FLW, we take a look at the possibility of a transfer going ahead, identifying one winner and one loser from the deal…

Should Hogan depart, it will free up some money for Bruce to bolster his playing squad at Villa Park.

Hogan has been one of his transfer flops, and Bruce would surely love the opportunity to replace him with a fresh face in the coming weeks.

Even if that recruit wasn't to be a striker, Bruce could recruit elsewhere to improve his squad depth.

Leon Clarke and David McGoldrick have had faith placed in them at Sheffield United so far this season, with Sharp starting the season on the bench.

The club captain is slowly working his way back into the picture, but the addition of Hogan could knock Sharp back down the pecking order.

If Hogan arrives, he will expect to play, which could leave Sharp cutting a frustrated figure on the bench again.
